- Abstract
The definition of the military image of the Savoy court was realized by some reforms launched at the end of the reign of King Carlo Alberto and was implemented over the following decades. These reforms not only nominally invested the Turin court, subsequently the court of the Kingdom of Italy, but also affected the profile of its organization. It was a phenomenon, therefore, with social and cultural effects, verifiable through the prosopographic study of the subjects involved. In this sense, the new "Military House" welcomed not only bargaining, but a closer blend between the curial dimension and the government of the state. This structure lasted until the beginning of the twentieth century, when a royal decree, which had no precedent, decided that the choice of the figures called to fill the three main offices of the court (minister of the Royal House, prefect of the Palace and first aide-de-camp) was under government control.
