- Abstract
The article discusses the start of the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic, patients with diabetes have rapidly recognized as a high-risk population for severe disease. Topics include diabetes has associated with a doubled risk of intensive care unit admission and a tripled risk of death; and the composite primary end point combined tracheal intubation for mechanical ventilation.
