- Abstract
Currently, there are four generations of employees in the labor market: the Baby Boomer Generation, Generation X, Generation Y, and Generation Z. Handling generations in organizations necessitates the skillful management of human resources. The challenges facing managers include the need to communicate effectively with representatives of different generations and learn their capabilities as well as their expectations towards the organization. The goal of the study is to present the expectations of Generation Z employees with respect to companies in terms of their pro--environmental activities. The aim is also to indicate whether taking pro--environmental actions by organizations makes them more attractive employers in the view of representatives of Generation Z. The completion of the aim of the study was based on pilot qualitative research conducted on a sample of 52 respondents representing Generation Z. A synthetic review of the literature was made in the theoretical part of the study. It presents the definitions of generational management, sustainable development, and green human resource management. The paper points out the importance of the role currently played by organizations operating in accordance with the concept of sustainable development.
