- Abstract
The article presents a study for examining the association of maternal circulating transthyretin (TTR) level with increased risk of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Topics include thyroid hormones and retinol transported by TTR, relationship of TTR status to fasting blood glucose (FBG) and postload blood glucose (PBG) in pregnancy, and decreasing circulating TTR levels as therapeutic approach for the treatment of GDM.
