- Title
The Use of z Scores in Probabilistic Sensitivity Analyses.
- Authors
Schauer, Daniel P.; Eckman, Mark H.
- Abstract
The article discusses the use of the standard z score in probabilistic sensitivity analyses to maintain continuity from one sequential cycle within the Markov simulation to the next. It notes that z score indicates the number of standard deviations (SD) a value above or below the mean and is used in the next cycle to pick a non-random value from the parameter distribution. It says the Markov model provides a correct estimate of the uncertainty in the parameter values by using a fixed z score.
