- Abstract
The article has as its main purpose to evaluate the contributions of Design Thinking's methodology tô Communication studies, especially regarding to public Communication. Therefore a state of art will be presented as well as the concepts of public communication and design Thinking, their history and milestones. As a result, it is to note that although the number of studies involving the methodology has been growing throughout the years it has not yet been adopted by the field of Communication. In spite of that, the methodology can represent an important tool to annalyse communication processes ans products in a wide and multidisciplinar way. The concepts of public communication and design Thinking have important convergencies especially when the aim is to perfect strategies and to implement more assertives actions to promote better results especially in a perspective of a colaborative and colective construction. Were identified as limiting factors the bureocracy, political interference and the lack of information regarding the methodology, what can be a setback to its creative proposal.
