- Abstract
The article discusses a study which determined the efficacy, safety and tolerability of tarenflurbil in patients with mild Alzheimer's disease (AD). The randomized trial enrolled patients with mild AD in the U.S. between February 21, 2005 and April 30, 2008 and concomitant treatment with cholinesterase was permitted. It was found that tarenflurbil had no beneficial effect on the co-primary outcomes of the participants randomized. A small increase in frequency of dizziness, anemia and infections was also reported in the tarenflurbil group.
