- Abstract
The article discusses a study that used polycarbonateurethane (PCU) with lipophilic copper (Cu)(II)-complex (Cu(II)-DTTCT) blending films to generate nitric oxide (NO) from nitrite. It examines the mechanical properties of the PCU films using tensile strength measurement. It shows that the risk of thrombosis on the implants may be reduced by the generation of biologically active level of NO at the blood/polymer interface.
