- Abstract
The article discusses a study which examined the synthesis of high impact polystyrene (HIPS)/magnesium hydroxide (MH) composites via melt-blending. Results of the study showed that there was improvement in the flame-retarding properties of composites containing PS-modified MH. It also found a critical thickness of interfacial boundary for optimum flame-retarding properties in ternary composites based MH- and PS-modified MH.
