- Title
Type 2 Diabetes Genes Gleaned by Making a β-Cell Screen Routine.
- Authors
Voight, Benjamin F.; Grant, Struan F. A.
- Abstract
A commentary is presented on a study which revealed the results of a high-throughput functional screen conducted to possibly implicate causal genes at type 2 diabetes (T2D) genome-wide association studies (GWAS)-implicated loci. Topics covered include the screening criteria, validation of eight target genes with newly synthesized small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) and genes implicated in ß-cell function.
