- Abstract
During 4 years 37 juxtapapilläry duodenal diverticula were operated. Diverticula were classified into three types according to their relation to the papilla vateria: papillary, peripapillary and mixed. Surgical procedures were: Papillary diverticula (13) : severance of the papilla and the top of the diverticula, fixation of the papilla to the duodenal wall; Peripapillary (20): dissecting, invagination into the duodenum and resection; Mixed type (usually giant diverticula) (4) : either severance of the top of the diverticulum to enlarge the ostium, or bypass operation, or resection of the head of pancreas. No postoperative mortality.
