- Title
Planetary science: Eris under scrutiny.
- Authors
Gulbis, Amanda
- Abstract
The article focuses on the discovery of Eris, a dwarf planet and other Kuiper-belt objects. It states that Eris' discovery has led to the realization that there are more planets in the outer reaches of the Solar System that are waiting for detection. It adds that the stellar-occultation technique is an effective method for the discovery of the features of Solar System bodies, in which it can lead to the review of ideas on how objects in the Solar System are formed and evolve.
