- Authors
Ung, Oweng A.
- Abstract
The article discusses the oncologic and aesthetic aspect of breast cancer surgical practice. Oncoplastic procedures applied in the wide excision during surgery may allow for larger margins but difficulties may arise if there has been significant repositioning of breast tissue. It is also noted that surgeons should master the aesthetic approach to maximize cosmesis following wide excision and techniques to optimize cosmesis after mastectomy.
