- Abstract
In geriatric age group, the large masses especially in the anterior region of the neck make laryngotracheal structures and they are potentially having risk for difficult airway and tracheomalacia. In such cases, the necessary preparations should be made for the possibility of difficult airway. Extubation in the postoperative period should be planned taking into account the probability of tracheomalacia. In this report, we aimed to present oro-tracheal intubation in the semi- sitting position and present the anesthetic management in a geriatric patient scheduled for thyroidectomy.
