- Abstract
The performance of the new high-temperature resistant titanium alloy material Ti750 in the cutting experiment was investigated. The single factor alternate method and the orthogonal experiment were used to analyze the effects of back engagement of the cutting edge, feed rate and cutting speed on the cutting force of Ti750. The empirical cutting force formula model was established through multiple nonlinear regression. The turning tool durabilities of Seco TS2000, Seco TH1000 and PCBN tools during cutting Ti750 material were explored. The experimental results show that the back engagement of cutting edge has the greatest influence on the cutting force of Ti750 with followed effect by the feed rate, while the cutting speed has slight influence. PCBN is prone to chipping during cutting Ti750, and TH1000 performs well. TS2000 has the least amount of wear with the best durability.
