- Abstract
The article describes the case of a 63-year-old woman with a giant retroperitoneal sarcoma. The patient sought medical attention for abdominal distention that was progressive over 2 years. On examination, a hard mass that occupied the entire abdomen was palpated. At laparotomy, a liposarcomatous tumour occupying the entire abdominal cavity was noted. The tumour was completely excised, and a right-sided nephrectomy, appendectomy, hysterectomy and a cholecystectomy was performed in the patient.
