- Abstract
A study published in the European Journal of Endocrinology explores the use of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) in children and adolescents with congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH). The study found that many subjects with CAH had high glucose levels throughout the day and night, particularly post-pubertal adolescents who received high doses of steroids in the evening. The accuracy of CGM devices in the low glucose range needs further evaluation. The authors note that another study on CGM in CAH did not acknowledge or discuss their previously published study. This research was conducted by the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetology at the University Hospital in Munich, Germany.
