- Abstract
The article offers information on Listeria monocytogenes, an aerobic motile bacteria that can cause various diseases. It notes that L. monocytogenes can be found anywhere including various food stuffs such as refrigerated foods. Moreover, it mentions that this zoonotic pathogen can cause invasive diseases such as listeriosis that can affect pregnant women and newly born infants. A sequence comparison of the genes of prfA virulence gene cluster (pVGC) and other Listeria species is conducted.
