Reports on the supplementation of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)-enriched tempeh-like fermented soybean to the AIN-76 diet and fed for two months to spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR). Comparison of the antihypertensive activity with that of authentic GABA; Retardation of the elevation of systolic blood pressure in SHR in the GABA-tempeh group.
