- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the environmental influence on epigenetic inheritance at thevy allele. It is mentioned that methyl donor supplementation does not directly increase methylation of Avy, but increases the probability of the intracisternal A particle (IAP). Moreover, methyl donors increase the pool of S-adenosylmethionine which makes methyl groups available to a variety of proteins. The study also revealed that epigenetic inheritance presents the prospect of a system of inheritance based on a complex assortment of proteins associated with DNA.
