The evolution of the concept of security is discussed, with emphasis on its usage in the development of financial instruments like catastrophe bonds. He also talks about various reports that highlight climate change as a political issue including the 1971 "Report of the Study of Man's Impact on Climate" and the 1974 "Potential Implications of Trends in World Population, Food Production, and Climate."
