- Abstract
Some theories or models have emerged in order to see the effective outcomes of nursing care services, to establish a standard language, to systematically guide the collection and implementation of data, and to provide a framework for care and practice. These models are able to shed light on the profession and can be transferred to practice. The Neuman System Model is a nursing model in which care becomes individualized and holistic, taking care of both healthcare and disease care, determining the physiological, psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, and developmental needs of the patient, identifying the patients' stressors and stress sources, and initiating a plan. In this case study, the stressors experienced by a 20-year-old terminally ill patient with peritoneal carcinomatosis and the level of response to these stressors were examined and a care plan was prepared in the direction of this data. The purpose of this case study is to evaluate the nursing care for patients with peritoneal carcinomatosis using the Neuman Systems Model as an available guide.
