- Abstract
This study reports on an experiment at Akdeniz University that aims to evaluate the effectiveness of cooperative learning strategy on students from two different financial accounting classes. The contents of the financial accounting courses are identical. Within the context of the experiment, while in one class (experiment group) cooperative learning strategy was utilized, in the other (control group) classical teaching approach was continued to be utilized. At the end of the experiment period the performances of the students on exams and the results of the questionnaires presented to them were analyzed. According to the results of this experiment, we can conclude that cooperative learning strategy is a more effective way of teaching financial accounting.
