- Title
The Use of Vision Screenings by Speech Pathologists: An Initial Investigation.
- Authors
Koch, Christopher; Hauf, Christina K.
- Abstract
This paper examines vision problems and learning disability assessment. Although vision problems are associated with academic and behavioral problems, functional vision is seldom examined. Part of the difficulty is that most practitioners (e.g., speech pathologists) are not trained in vision assessment. Suggestions for the future include continued research linking functional vision and learning disabilities, implementing training programs in vision screening assessment, and the development of an accurate and brief measure of functional vision.
