- Abstract
The article presents a study which investigated the results and effect sizes of glossectomy using an objective measure of artifacts in micrometers (µm) and a grade system. The study subjected 19 patients with tongue cancer to partial glossectomy. It notes that harmonic focus curved shears, when used for a partial glossectomy, create a smaller artifact dept and less cautery/crush artifact than monopolar cautery.
