- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 60-year-old Korean woman diagnosed of proctocolitis caused by coffee enema. She was admitted to the hospital with hematochezia and severe anal pain. She had recovered with antibiotics, intravenous fluid treatment and bowel rest. Coffee enema can give no benefit and carries complicating risks. The authors have suggested reconsidering coffee anema as an alternative treatment.
