- Abstract
Rejection is a key issue in heart transplantation, being responsible for the demise of the first heart transplant patient, and there is no doubt that it is an important aspect of post-transplant care. Nevertheless, the drug is not approved in the United States for use in heart transplantation due to the excess of rejection but it is approved for kidney transplant recipients. Mild acute cellular rejection and development of cardiac allograft vasculopathy assessed by intravascular ultrasound and coronary angiography in heart transplant recipients - a SCHEDULE trial substudy.
