- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 68-year-old man presented with a history of progressive dry gangrene and ulceration of the left lower leg after self-medication with wet compresses soaked of home-prepared aconite tincture from rhizomes of A. carmichaelii. Topics include reporting of aconite poisoning following poor processing of raw materials, home-made tincture causing vasoconstriction and plant species exert such activity sue to common active components of aconitine-type alkaloids.
