- Title
RUNAWAY ICEBERG COULD BE A HAZARD.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the hazardous effect of runaway iceberg to the ocean. The scientists are observing the iceberg that broke away from Ellesmere Island, Canada. They predicted that the iceberg could bring havoc in the Arctic Ocean. The scientists believed that warmer temperatures in the summer will break up the pack ice around it, sending off the iceberg on a hundred miles journey. This may threatened heavily trafficked oil and gas shipping routes and oil platforms. The iceberg is considered to be part of the Ayles ice shelf and one of the only six such shelves on the island until it was broken in 2005.
