- Abstract
The article discusses a pilot intervention in Spain called TESTATE C PLUS, which provided online self-sampling kits for hepatitis C virus (HCV) screening to gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM) and transgender women (TW). The study found that the provision of self-sampling kits and online consultation of results was feasible and acceptable to participants. The study identified advantages such as convenience and privacy, but also noted disadvantages such as the risk of sample loss and long waiting times for results. The study demonstrated the benefits of implementing self-sampling kits for HCV testing and highlighted the importance of collaboration with community entities. Further research is needed to integrate this strategy into the public health system.
