- Abstract
The article discusses research that aims to express channelrhodopsin-2 (ChR2) in visual cortical cells by transfection with ChR2-recombinant adenovirus, and to explores the effects of light on these cells. Cells have undergone stimulation with blue light, and light-induced action potentials were noted in patch-clamp experiments. The findings suggest that ChR2-recombinant adenovirus transfection of primary cultured visual cortical cells can control the production of action potentials.
