The Influence of Race on Barriers to Physical Activity.
- Authors
Cunningham, George B.
- Abstract
The article discusses a study on the impact of race on the two barriers to physical activity, lack of facilities and lack of equipment. It is said that racial minorities tend to have limited opportunities for sport and exercise participation. Under the study, 175 students were subjected to answer a questionnaire on demography, affective reaction to physical activity, barriers to physical activity and plans to pursue physical activity. Results show that the negative effects on future exercise intentions were greater among racial minorities.
