AT A GLANCE ….
- Abstract
The article presents an overview of the outlook for the global economy in the last half of 2011. According to the article, global growth will decelerate from 5.2% in 2010 to 4.4% in 2011 and there will be a slowdown in world trade growth from 11.9% in 2010 to 6.2% in 2011. Higher oil prices will account for the deceleration and its impact will be stronger in the U.S. than in Europe. Analysts predict that the effects of the financial crisis and the recession it induced will be long lasting.
