- Abstract
The article presents a study which describes the applications of remote sensing to the quantitative estimation of fire-line intensity and geometry and the sensible heat and carbon fluxes in plumes from large wildland fires in Brazil. It indicates that wildland fires are complex and dynamic, requiring frequent high-resolution measurements over their course and duration in order to specify their effects in the environment.
