- Abstract
To measure quality indicators related to the implementation of good practices in drug administration in pediatric intensive care units. Descriptive, exploratory, retrospective study, carried out from April to September 2017, in three intensive care units and one pediatric semi-intensive unit of a large teaching hospital, specialized in child health and maternity hospitals in the interior of São Paulo. Four incidence indicators were measured through the clinical audit. During the period there was an opportunity to carry out 601 good practices, of which the incidence of syringes with standard identification was 89%, bottles with standard identification was 69%, double checking was 69% and medications opened at the bedside it was 61%. The average incidence of indicators was 77%, which demonstrates feasibility and interest in the strategy to improve patient safety. More complex care units showed more satisfactory rates.
