The article uses mouse models for analyzing the role of interferon alpha/beta receptor 2 (IFNAR2) precursor in human antiviral immunity. Topics discussed include investigation of healthy child with fatal encephalitis after inoculation of the live attenuated measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine; and phenotype of IFNAR2 deficiency.
