- Abstract
The article presents two studies regarding the use of low-molecular weight heparin (LMWH) in the prevention of recurrent spontaneous miscarriages (RSM). The Dutch trial (ALIFE study) shows that the use of aspirin plus nadroparin gives no improvement of the live-birth rate to women with a history of RSM compared with a placebo. The Scottish Pregnancy Intervention Study (SPIN) reports that there is only small percentage of a successful pregnancy in patients receiving pharmacological interventions compared with patients receiving intensive surveillance alone.
