- Abstract
A case study of a 46-years-old woman with a 6-hour history of intermittent shortness of breath, diaphoresis and chills is presented. She suffered respiratory arrest and was incubated in the intensive care unit. She developed rhabdomyolysis, autonomic nervous system instability and signs of multiorgan failure. The sequence analysis of viral RNA showed its compatibility with a rabies virus variant associated with Mexican free-tailed bats (Tadarida brasiliensis).
