- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 65-year-old man who was referred to the hospital with positive human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) serology. The patient has been diagnosed with cytomegalovirus (CMV) duodenitis associated with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome and treated with ganciclovir. CD4+ lymphocyte count of 261 cells/mL and plasma HIV-RNA levels have been suppressed after thirty months of medication.
