- Abstract
The article discusses the importance of integrating ecosystem services, green infrastructure, and nature-based solutions into spatial planning to create sustainable and equitable urban environments. It highlights the need for more research and collaboration between researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to overcome barriers to integration in planning practices. The concept of green infrastructure is explored, including its role in addressing social, economic, and environmental issues and supporting climate adaptation. The article also discusses nature-based solutions and their use in mitigating climate-related hazards and improving adaptive capacity. The Special Issue of the journal focuses on the relationships between spatial planning processes and ecosystem services, the spatial structure of green infrastructures, and green infrastructure for climate change adaptation.
