The article explores the author's experience of teaching the book "Pricing the Priceless Child: The Changing Social Value of Children" by Viviana Zelizer, with a particular focus on its relevance in a global context. Details on her students at New York University in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, and their interpretations of the book, are presented. According to the author, one of the book's most important contributions is its exploration of the moral limits of commoditization. Topics discussed include love, parenting, and insurance.
