- Abstract
The article presents a case study on the role of human papillomavirus in targeting V600 BRAF mutations in melanoma and other malignancies such as squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). It offers details of the method of the study which searches evidence of HPV within the lesions using a combined immunohistochemistry (IHC) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR). It outlines the result of the study which indicates the potential of HPV as precursor of SCC.
