- Title
EDUCATION AS EVENT: A CONVERSATION WITH JOHN D. CAPUTO.
- Authors
CAPUTO, JOHN D.; DICKINSON, T. WILSON
- Abstract
An interview with theologian and philosopher of religion John D. Caputo is presented. Caputo proposes a new framework for education built on the concept of the "event," a philosophical term referring to the coming of something that can radically transform societies and institutions for the better or for worse, as an alternative to both the current information-driven model of the secular university and to the growing turn towards an approach that focuses on the religious formation of students.
