- Abstract
Objective:To investigate the status quo of loneliness among the main family caregivers of inpatients with enterostomy and to analyze the influencing factors. Methods:The main family caregivers of 322 patients with enterostomy were conveniently selected as the research subjects. The general information questionnaire of patients and caregivers, University of California Los Angeles Loneliness Scale (ULS - 8), Adaptation Partnership Growth Affection and Resolve(APGAR), Zarit Caregiver Burden Interview(ZBI), and Affiliate Stigma Scale(ASS)were used to conduct questionnaires, and Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation of main family caregivers' loneliness and family care, care burden, and affiliate stigma. The stepwise multiple linear regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of loneliness among the main family caregivers of enterostomy patients. Results:The loneliness score of the main family caregivers of enterostomy patients was(21. 87±2. 98)points, the family care index score was(5. 60±1. 33)points, the caregiver burden score was(57. 51±12. 64)points, and the affiliate stigma score was(54. 88±8. 71)points. The results of Person correlation analysis showed that the total score of loneliness was negatively correlated with the total score of family care(r=-0. 451, P< 0. 001), positively correlated with the total score of care burden(r=0. 607, P<0. 001), and positively correlated with the total score of affiliate stigma(r=0. 679, P<0. 001). The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that the patient's self - care status, the patient's cost of purchasing ostomy supplies, the caregiver's gender, marital status, care burden, family care degree, and affiliate stigma were the influencing factors of caregiver's loneliness(P<0. 05), which could explain 59. 7% of the total variance. Conclusions:The main family caregivers of enterostomy patients had a moderate level of loneliness. Medical workers should pay attention to the enterostomy patients' self-care status, caregivers' gender, marital status, and the cost of ostomy supplies for the patients they cared for, care burden, family care degree, and affiliate stigma, strengthen simultaneous health education for enterostomy patients and their caregivers, help main caregivers to adapt to the role of caregivers faster, and reduce loneliness.
