- Abstract
Dairy is an important part of a sound diet, as well as an vital source of nutrition for humans. Dairy products are susceptible to contamination by plasticizers during production, processing and packaging as they pass through multiple stages from production to market, and need to be given priority attention. Phthalates (PAEs) are one of the most commonly used plasticizers, which can improve the durability and elasticity of materials. However, since PAEs are not tightly connected to the plastic matrix, they can migrate from the matrix to the environment or food. Therefore, it is necessary to detect and assess the risk of PAEs in dairy products. This paper described the sources and hazards of plasticizers in dairy products, and introduced the limits of PAEs in collection tools, care products and foodstuffs at home and abroad. Literature research was carried out on various detection methods for PAEs in dairy products, including gas chromatography, liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry and immunoassay, etc.. This paper summarized, generalized and compared the advantages and disadvantages as well as the applicability and occasions of various methods at the present stage, with a view to providing an effective choice of methods for the detection of plasticizers in dairy products with different needs.
