- Abstract
The article profiles Félix Vicq d'Azyr, physician, anatomist, medical historian and social reformer. He was born in Valognes in Normandy, France to a local physician and has studied medicine in 1765. He has studied the anatomy and physiology of fish, as well as those of large animals. He became professor of comparative anatomy at the veterinary school in Alfort, and has published a book on the anatomy of the brain.
