"EFEITO VIAGEM" NA QUALIDADE DO SONO, ESTRESSE-RECUPERAÇÃO E ATENÇÃO EM ATLETAS DE FUTEBOL UNIVERSITÁRIO.

- Abstract
Introdução: No futebol, o sono é um processo essencial por propiciar a restauração corporal e o reequilíbrio homeostático dos atletas. Além de funções fisiológicas, seu papel também está claro em funções endócrinas, imunológicas e de desempenho cognitivo. No entanto, um eventual efeito da viagem pode alterar o padrão de sono de atletas, com implicações para o estresse, recuperação e a atenção, bem como para a relação entre essas variáveis supracitadas. Objetivos: O objetivo foi analisar os índices de qualidade do sono, estresse e atenção, em atletas de futebol universitário de Natal-RN nos momentos - pré e pós-viagem - para competição. Amostra: A amostra foi constituída por 16 atletas de futebol universitário, do gênero masculino. Métodos: Eles responderam a questionários (Índice de Qualidade de Sono de Pittsburgh - IQSP; Avaliação de Cronotipo de Horne e Ostberg e RESTQ-Sport) e realizaram a tarefa atencional de execução contínua (Continuous Performance Task - CPT). Resultados: Uma alta pontuação (acima de 5 pontos) no IQSP, sugerindo uma qualidade de sono ruim nos dois momentos. Quando comparados os momentos pré e pós-viagem, de cada variável, foram encontradas diferenças significativas apenas nas escalas de Recuperação Geral (Wilcoxon, p<0,05) e de Recuperação Específica (Wilcoxon, p=0,05). Foi encontrada uma moderada e inversa associação entre qualidade de sono e escores de cronotipo no momento pré-viagem (rho = 0,647). Já no momento pós-viagem, foi encontrada uma correlação moderada e inversamente proporcional entre a qualidade do sono e os percentuais de resposta correta da atenção seletiva (rho = -0,538), além de correlações moderadas e diretamente proporcionais entre o cronotipo e o percentual de respostas corretas do alerta fásico (rho = 0,649). Conclusão: Portanto, esses resultados contrariam nossas hipóteses, principalmente, de que os índices de estresse estariam mais elevados após viagem e o desempenho atencional prejudicado. Novos estudos com amostras maiores e utilização de grupo controle são relevantes para tentar confirmar as evidências de um eventual efeito viagem.
