- Abstract
We thank the dear reader for his interest in our manuscript about the usefulness of unsedated transnasal endoscopy in the preoperative assessment of bariatric patients [[1]]. Therefore, although we completely agree with the terms "patients with obesity" or "patients with superobesity", its use in the text often needs to be balanced according to the content of the manuscript. In our view, expressions like "obese patients" or "superobese patients" regarding individuals with obesity are not stigmatizing and follow international standard terminology and classifications adopted by the WHO and Medical Societies guidelines [[2]-[4]].
