- Abstract
This article discusses the use of the ADNEX model in preoperative ultrasound scans to distinguish borderline ovarian tumors (BOTs) from other ovarian lesions. The study was conducted at a specialized ultrasound center in a tertiary university hospital, where 613 patients were scanned over a 6-year period. The results showed that the ADNEX model was effective in identifying BOTs, with specific ultrasound markers such as multiple papillary projections and honeycomb nodules being associated with these tumors. The study concludes that the ADNEX model is a reliable tool for distinguishing BOTs from invasive malignant tumors and atypical benign lesions, but suggests that additional markers, such as vascular patterns, should be considered for better accuracy.
