- Abstract
This article, titled "EP20.06: Performance of ultrasound in women with postmenopausal or abnormal uterine bleeding in white and black ethnic groups: a retrospective cohort study," examines the incidence of uninformative ultrasounds in black women compared to white women with postmenopausal or abnormal uterine bleeding. The study found that black women had a higher prevalence of fibroids and a lower visibility of the endometrial cavity on ultrasound scans compared to white women. As a result, a higher proportion of black women required invasive testing. The authors suggest that alternative methods may be more useful in investigating suspected endometrial cancer in black populations.
